Old Cross-Border SENTRI Cards Face Deactivation
Outdated SENTRI cards for cross-border travelers between the United States and Mexico will be deactivated Jan. 26, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The new cards, which have been mailed to participants in the trusted-traveler program since July, contain enhanced security features.
SENTRI participants must activate their new cards within 30 days, verify their mailing address and confirm that their current license plate number is correct at https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov.
Participants who have not yet received a new card are asked to go to their local enrollment center to either pick up or apply for a new one. Old SENTRI cards must be destroyed after the new ones are activated. –L.B.
