Museum Exhibition of the Guanajuato Mummies
ROVING MUSEUM EXHIBITION OF THE GUANAJUATO MUMMIES Starting today tickets will be on sale to enjoy the historic presentation of 18 mummies from the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The exhibition is at El Foro (The old Jai-Alai (Fronton building in Revolucion Avenue in Downtown Tijuana) between 7th & 8th Streets. (see map attached) The exhibition will be displayed from October 12th to November 12th 2008, Monday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. The cost is Adults: $45 pesos Children: $20 pesos Students, teachers, senior citizens or disabled people with proper ID: $5 pesos
For California residents that would like to see the Mummies exhibition, transportation will be available from San Ysidro Border with a $5 dollar cost round trip for their convenience. Tickets will be on sale at Tijuana¢s City Hall (Chashier¢s Office) or at any City Delegations. The unique exhibition will be installed with proper illumination, air and temperature conditions. The Guanajuato Mummies are world known because of their natural preservation, some are up to 150 years old, and all have become part of the Mexican culture. In 1865 the first body was extracted from the Santa Paula Cemetery and recently more bodies have been found mummified due to the conditions of the soil.
18 Mummies, 4 murals, photographs, video projections, traditional Altar de Muertos, representations of the Santa Paula Cemetery are in display.
