Grand Reopening of Paco`s Fine Art Gallery in Rosarito
Over 25 years of dedication to fine art in Rosarito was celebrated on Saturday, November 28th with the reopening of Paco and Maria`s Art Gallery in the Centro Commercial of the Playas de Rosarito Hotel.
Many friends, clients, and artists were present for the ribbon cutting ceremony and reception. The new gallery is an inviting space for showing a variety of Baja artists` works. Paco and Maria are committed to presenting only professional original art works to please different tastes and collectors. They appreciate the support shown by his students and the Rosarito community and want to show the best art in Rosarito.

Paco`s artist mother Petra Elena opened the first fine art gallery in Ensenada, and, following in her footsteps, Paco opened the first fine art gallery in Rosarito in 1979. In time some of Baja`s other famous artists, such as Polo and Acosta, studied with Paco. Starting in 1998 his wife Luz de Maria Hernandez Gillen joined him in painting. Now two of their daughters, Marisol and Dulce, are commencing art careers here. Today Paco is proud that Rosarito has more galleries and a larger art community than all the other areas of Baja Norte. Their new gallery showcases their works along with those of many other Baja artists.

Francisco Xavier Garcia Zamorra or "Paco" is world famous for his interpretive impressionist works that present a serene, soulful view of Mexican life and Italian lakes with panoramic vistas. Paco has visited the places he paints, and his works are truly calming and dreamlike:
all present a graceful and timeless quality. Paco`s three dimensional technique has been very successful, leading him to many shows in the United States, Japan, and Mexico. After more than a hundred expositions, Paco prefers painting in Rosarito, and he has completed many commissions for murals in homes and offices in Baja and southern California.

Luz de Maria is a modern impressionist artist, using oils to vividly paint women and nature. She employs a spatula technique to create textured mosaic like works that reflect her distinctive style. Her canvases are alive with amazingly vibrant colors. Maria is a gifted artist of integrity who continually perfects her craft.

Their gallery also presents art work from noted Baja artists like Atilano, Barajas, Ramirez, and Ponce. Currently a number of beautiful, surreal works by Judith Esparza are also on display. Esparza draws on nature - rocks, trees, flowers - to evoke a spiritual, other worldly dimension. Esparza has been painting for over 30 years with many shows throughout Mexico.

Visiting the gallery you may likely encounter either Paco or Maria at work, for it is also their studio, so you can view the evolution of an art piece. Not only does the gallery provide framing services, but it also allows works to be taken to home or office on a "try-out" basis.
Paco and Maria are very friendly and open to commissions and experimentation too. Paco and Maria anticipate having future shows featuring the best of Baja`s artists, so visit their gallery and do not hesitate to contact them.
