Dialing Phone Numbers in Baja California, Mexico

All telephone numbers in Baja have 10 digits, a three digit area code and a seven digit phone number. 

 International Access Codes:

 From Mexico to U.S.:  001

Whether you're dialing from a Mexico Phone or a U.S. Cell Phone* while in Mexico, if you're dialing a U.S. number, you must dail the International Access Code - 001, the area code and then the 7 digit phone number.  (*If you currently subscribe to an International Calling Plan from your Service Provider, follow their instructions)

From U.S. to Mexico:  011

When dialing a Mexico Phone from a U.S. phone line, you must dial the International Access Code 011, the country code for Baja California (52), the area code and the phone number.

The area codes for Mexico are as follows:

Ensenada:  646
Mexicali & San Felipe:  686
Rosarito:  661
Tijuana:  664

To dial a long distance phone number within Mexico:

Dial the Long Distance Access Code01, the area code, then the 7 digit phone number.

For example:  Calling a Rosarito Number from Ensenada:  Dial Long Distance Access Code (01), Rosarito Area Code (661), then the 7 digit phone number.

How to Call a Mexican Cell Phone:

A Local Cell Call:

Dial the Cell Phone Prefix (044) AND the local area code:  (044) (661) [Rosarito] 123-4567

Long Distance Cell Call:

Dial the Long Distance Cell Prefix (045) AND the area code (664) [Tijuana] and the phone number 123-4567

Calling from the U.S. to a Mexican Cell:

Dial the International Access Code (011), Country Code for Baja (52), then a (1), the area code (661), then the phone number 123-4567
